2005 Minnesota Folk
Festival
HASTINGS, Minn. -- The annual 2005 Minnesota Folk Festival, featuring concerts
of internationally acclaimed artists and Minnesota favorites, the sixth annual New
Folk Songwriting Contest, showcases, fiddle contest, children's events, arts and
crafts, camping and food and beverage will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday,
June 25, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Little Log House Showgrounds,
six miles south of Hastings on Highway 61 and 1 mile east on 220th Avenue.
Featured artists include Michael Johnson, Lynn Miles, Paul Geremia, Spider John Koerner,
Machinery Hill, Bill Geezy and the Promise Breakers, Cam Waters and Kari Larson,
Pig's Eye Landing, The Granary Girls, John and Jean Mason and Dave Stoddard.
Tickets are $9 in advance, $11 at the door. Seniors and children 5 to 16 are $4.50
in advance and $5.50 at the door. Children under 5 are free. Advance tickets are
available from the Minnesota Folk Festival online at minnesotafolkfestival.org or

Edina Art Center events
EDINA, Minn. -- Edina Art Center, located at 4701 W. 64th St., will feature its
Student Show opening June 2, featuring artwork created in the past year by students
of all ages and at all levels from beginning to professional. A reception for the
artists will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, and the exhibit runs through July
4. Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m.
to 3:30 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The public is invited to
visit the gallery on July 4, from 6:30-10:30 p.m. and stay and watch the fireworks
in nearby Rosland Park afterward. "Beadwork: Infinite Possibilities," an
exhibit by the Upper Midwest Bead Society will open with a reception from 5-8 p.m.
