TSUNAMI -- The Earth
Speaks
Underneath millions who walk its plains,
Far below the surface of the deep, blue ocean,
A shift has occurred, a natural disaster begun,
A quake of the earth releases intense power,
The core of its being has thrown up,
Those in the way will be caught in the wake.
This raging force brings the world to its knees,
Why did this happen, how could this be?
Nation upon nation, sends people and supplies,
A desperate attempt is made to save lives,
Humbled and in tears, we all pray in silence,
The year has begun, reminding us we are One.
Only 3000 miles away, a war rages on,
Terrorists killing their own if they get in the way,
Retaliation runs high, who'll be in control?
Can we win this war with guns and hate?
Will love overcome and secure our fate?
The death count runs high as tragedy takes its toll.
The powers of the world just do not know,
Where true power lies, as they act bold,
Our earth has brought destruction, what is it saying?
"Wake up to compassion, loving kindness and peace,
Your hold on life is only a lease,
Be kind to your brother, for you'll never know,
When your name has been placed on death's row."
