Indigo film appearing nationwide for one day only

More than 50 theaters around the country will be screening the Stephen Simon film Indigo on one day only -- Saturday, Jan. 29 -- and hundreds of other churches around the world have also agreed to show the film that won the "Audience Choice Award" at the Santa Fe Festival.

Indigo is a film about loneliness, redemption and the healing powers and grace of the new generation of Indigo (psychic and gifted) children being born into the world. Although the story is fictional, the emotions and actions of the film resonate with the spiritual dynamics of life today.

"We are trying to do something very new here, something that has never been done before in any theater," says co-writer James Twyman on the unique one-day showing. "We have made an exclusive agreement with the AMC theater chain, and they want to know just how supportive this 'new' audience is. We have been telling them that the esoteric spiritual community is very much like the traditional Christian market that came out to support Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ. If we prove this to them, then it will pave the way for many other films with spiritual messages to receive mainstream distribution. It also increases the likelihood of Indigo getting a longer run in all these theaters."

Indigo will be shown at three locations on January 29 in the Twin Cities:
• Southdale Center 16, 400 Southdale Center, Edina (952) 920-9595
• Arbor Lakes 16, 12575 Elm Creek Blvd. N., Maple Grove (763) 494-0379
• Mall of America 14, 401 South Ave., Bloomington (952) 851-9386

Tickets for all theatrical screenings of Indigo will go on sale online at the end of November. Because each theater will only show the film once, all the showings are expected to sell out. Buy your tickets early.

The film, produced and directed by Stephen Simon and starring Neale Donald Walsch, will be shown in Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Detroit , Houston, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New Orleans, New York City, Norfolk, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa and Washington, D.C. "We are declaring January 29 World Indigo Day," Twyman says. "Along with the support of world-renowned author Doreen Virtue, hundreds of events are being sponsored around the world to bring more awareness to our Spiritually Aware children. Doreen and I will be offering a live conference that will be broadcast to every participating church. Also, Stephen Simon, Neale Donald Walsch and I will be taping a 15-minute introduction that will be shown before every screening of Indigo. We want this to be more than a movie -- a life-changing event."

If you are a member of a church or group and would like to sponsor a showing of Indigo on January 29, e-mail at
indigoday@belovedcommunity.com. You must be at least 75 miles from one of the theaters where Indigo is being screened, have the ability to gather at least 50 people and have access to a DVD player and quality digital projector.
