Labyrinth Gathering Coming to Minnesota
MAPLE LAKE, Minn. -- The public is invited to the sixth annual Labyrinth Society Gathering, also known as "Camp Labyrinth," October 7-10 at Camp Courage in Maple Lake, about 45 miles west of Minneapolis. It will feature internationally known artists, labyrinth designers and builders, music, dance, art, tours of local labyrinths and more.

Marty Cain, an artist and workshop leader, will present "She Just Keeps Walking in Circles." She will share stories, images and adventures of her 13 years of labyrinth building and the theories she has on the healing, communication and spiritual aspects of her research. She believes labyrinths are not merely art forms, decorative patterns or community events, but transformative vehicles that integrate the energies of the Earth and the Cosmic Realm.

Jonathan Quintin of New Zealand will present "The Zen of Geometry," sharing his newest work involving labyrinth shapes and animation technology that will allow the viewer to fly above, below and into labyrinths as a powerful means of programming the archetypes into the psyche.

Robert Possehl will present "Drawings-to-Walk-In: Building Community with Creativity." He uses labyrinths in a creative process of exploring what it means to be a part of a community, individually and together, and invites groups to co-create walkable art that depicts each community as unique and yet universal.

Dr. Jill Kimberly Hartwell Geoffrion, founding co-organizer of the Minnesota Labyrinth Network, will present "Widening the Circle." Using "The Minnesota Labyrinth Network Model" as a springboard, she will encourage participants to use these ancient patterns in ways that invite creativity, transformation and joy.
