| Pagan Pride Day MIDDLETON, WI -- The Greater Wisconsin Pagan Pride Project event -- the seventh annual Pagan Pride Day and celebration for Madison and the Greater Wisconsin area -- will take place September 25 at Lakeview Park in Middleton. The event, sponsored by the national Pagan Pride Day organization and prepared by local volunteers and Pagan organizations from around the state, is presented as a networking event for the people of Pagan and Wiccan paths in the Wisconsin area. It will include workshops and panels of local "big name Pagans," information tables and vendors. The event is also designed to be an outreach to the non-Pagan community, and local media. Contact planning coordinator Dorothy at DorothyK@POBoxes.com Active for peace PORTAGE COUNTY, WI -- Forty peace activists joined together in Portage County on June 20 to walk nine miles from Amherst to Custer on the 2004 Walk for Peace. This first-time collaborative project of the Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice (WNPJ) and the Midwest Renewable Energy Association Fair brought together people from all parts of the state eager to talk about the connection between peace and sustainability. This event was made possible, in part, by a Special Opportunity Grant from the Wisconsin Community Fund. Volunteers from Waupaca's People for Peace group supported the Walkers along the route. The Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice (WNPJ) was founded in 1991 as a coalition of activist groups and citizens of conscience within Wisconsin. WNPJ facilitates activities, cooperation and communication among Wisconsin organizations and individuals working toward the creation of a world free from violence and injustice.
