Simon premieres Indigo film,
offers lecture, workshops


MINNEAPOLIS -- Movie producer Stephen Simon will return to the Twin Cities March 18-21 for the Midwest premier of Indigo and lectures and workshops on the genre of spiritual cinema.

Stephen Simon has produced and been the developing executive for 25 major motion pictures, including Somewhere in Time, Smokey and The Bandit, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, All the Right Moves and more recently, What Dreams May Come. Simon produced and directed the newly-released Indigo, and is considered the leading international spokesperson for the recognition of spiritual cinema.

The film Indigo -- directed by Simon, written and produced by James Twyman and starring Neale Donald Walsch -- will premiere in the Midwest at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 18 at Riverview Theater, 3800 42nd Ave. S., Minneapolis, as a benefit for The Continuum Center and the Minnesota Film and Television Board. Tickets are $25 ($20 for members of The Continuum Center). Indigo is a film about loneliness, redemption and the healing powers and grace of the new generation of Indigo (psychic) children being born into the world. The story is about a 10-year-old girl, her grandfather and their family, shattered by a fateful mistake. The movie was screened at the Sante Fe Film Festival, received an unprecedented response and won the coveted Audience Award.

Other events Simon will lead include:

¥ A presentation, "Moving Messages: Entertaining Possibilities, Inspiring Change," from 7-9:30 p.m. on Friday, March 19, at The Marsh, 15000 Minnetonka Blvd. Admission is $25.

¥ Two one-day workshops, "Insights and Intrigue: A Producer/Distributor's Perspective on Filmmaking," an interactive workshop for filmmakers, actors, writers and others interested in Spiritual Cinema, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, March 20-21, at the Continuum Center, 2538 Hennepin Ave. S., Minneapolis. Admission is $150
