Lost Language of Plants

MONDOVI, Wisc. -- Stephen Buhner and Trishuwa come together for a remarkable week of intensive focus on plant and human relationship, May 15-21 in Wisconsin.

Buhner brings the power of his storytelling, deep knowledge and magical poetry to focus on biophilia (the evolutionary and genetically encoded capacity to care about and bond with the wildness of the world), biognosis (the capacity of human beings to gather knowledge directly from wild ecosystems -- the natural outgrowth of biophilia), the subtle poetry of plant language, how plant medicines maintain the homeostasis of the Earth by engaging in intricate chemical communications with all life on Earth, how pharmaceuticals (much more seriously than agrochemicals) are destroying that homeostasis and communication, and processes you can use to develop or deepen biognosis and your relationship with the poetry of plant language. This work is interwoven with Trishuwa's powerful evocation of Earth ceremonies and her depth exploration into ceremony as a primary language that allows communication between the human and nonhuman world.

The medicine wheel -- as ceremony and healing tool -- will be comprehensively used throughout the week to deepen plant and Earth relationship and communication. The sacred pipe and sweat lodge also will play important roles during the intensive. The week will be highly experiential and inner worlds -- the processes involved are often highly emotional.
