Thought is a Creative Power
In our spirit of unity | by Jeanette Monterio

Thought is a creative power and is the seed from which all of creation manifests. Thoughts are the moving force within an idea that gives that idea expression. I only need to look as far as my desk to know that everything in front of me was created by the moving force of thoughts. The pen, the computer, the stack of books, and yes, even the lukewarm coffee, was once a thought in someone's mind. Within a 12-inch radius is physical evidence of thousands of thoughts from thousands of people. To accept responsibility for our thoughts is to take charge of our lives.

Matrix of choices
In the first Matrix adventure, Neo, (the hero portrayed by Keanu Reeves), is presented with a choice by Morpheus. He could choose the red pill and the true nature of his experiences would be revealed, or if Neo were to choose the blue pill, he would remain ignorant of the truth and his world would remain unchanged. Neo could elect to awaken from the dream or sustain the dream. Neo could choose to live his life honestly and with integrity or choose to live asleep and in ignorance. Our "Red Pill" opportunities offer us great power and great potential and with that potential and power is the choice. To put it simply, I think therefore I create.

This movie is a wonderful metaphor of how we, as creative beings, live in a matrix of choices. It is estimated that we make 40,000 choices in a day -- 40,000 opportunities-a-day to choose between honesty and ignorance or truth and illusion. Our thoughts create our experiences and our environment. We don't get a choice about whether or not we are creative beings. WE ARE! We get to choose whether or not we will create consciously or unconsciously. Either way, WE CREATE. We can choose to live our true nature and create from the place of empowerment, or we can choose to deny our creative power and create from our unconscious thoughts. Either way, WE CREATE. We can choose between authenticity and inauthenticity. We can choose to live with integrity or choose to live asleep and in ignorance.

Trinity of manifestation
We don't get to choose our power of manifestation. We are always manifesting. But, we do choose how that power is directed by the thoughts that we hold. There are three components to the manifestation of our thoughts. Metaphysically, this trinity represents the three aspects of the creative process:

¥ The Mind = that which creates.
¥ The Idea = the thought.
¥ The Expression of the Idea = choice of manifestation.

As we master the creative process, we learn how to use the power of thought in such a way that it will help us make our dreams come true. Our (masculine) conscious thoughts need the (feminine) emotional components, to manifest the form (child). When there is an emotional component to our thoughts, though it may be a "small as a mustard seed," our thoughts will take form in our world.

I find it interesting that the emotional representative in the Matrix is called "Trinity." Though her role in the film was subordinate and stereotypical, nevertheless, she represented an important component in conscious choice). When Neo (conscious choice) was about to die and as he was taking his last breath, Trinity (emotion) delivers a life-giving kiss and declares: "The Oracle told me that I would fall in love. So you see, you can't be dead. You can't be. Because I love you."

Whatever we are emotionally attached to cannot die. This applies to both the things in our life that we want to create and the things in our life that we wish to change. This applies equally to the things we love and the things we fear. As long as our thoughts are being fed emotionally, they cannot die.

Have you ever had an experience of making a choice for change in your life (a new job, a relationship change, or lifestyle change) and just as that change was about to take form, an emotional attachment brought life back to the old choice? Both positive and negative emotional charges can "breathe life" into the old choices or new choices.

Care and feeding of our thoughts
Our thoughts are living, radiating forces, and like all living forces, they need to be fed and nurtured in order to grow into manifestation:

¥ Thoughts can grow into manifestation through repetition. Repetitive thoughts, which are affirmations of truth, or repetitive thoughts, which are affirmations of what is inauthentic. Both have direct and equal impact on what we create.

¥ Thoughts can grow into manifestation when they are emotionally fed. We give our thoughts power through thoughts of love or thoughts of fear. Both have direct and equal impact on what we create.

What we focus our thought on, we attract into our lives. This is known as the "Law of Mind Action."

A personal example
I had a desire to purchase a new vehicle. The car I wanted was not aligned with the amount of money I had saved. Nevertheless, I continued to envision this beautiful car. I focused my attention on what I wanted to create. I imagined the color, the interior. I focused my emotion by imagining how it would feel to drive the car. I kept the vision fed by having pictures of "my new car" on my bathroom mirror and the dashboard of my old car.

My partner saw an ad in the newspaper featuring the car I wanted for the price I had envisioned. He immediately went to the dealership, reviewed the car and showed the salesman the ad. The salesman said that he could not sell the car for that price; it must be a typo. He met with his sales manager and he informed my partner "according to state laws, they had to sell the car at the advertised price despite the typographical error in the ad." My new car was the exact color and interior as the wrinkled photo attached to the dashboard of my old car! Additionally, everyone benefited from this demonstration, and our family continues to purchase their automobiles through this dealership that demonstrated integrity and honesty.

Thoughts hold power
Thought is the initiating power behind every action, consciously or unconsciously. Every motion that we take is backed by thought, though we may not be aware of thinking before each step. Thoughts are the motivating power behind an action and have a direct effect on matter. Even when we do not act on the thought, it has already produced some kind of effect.

¥ Thoughts are the power behind every action, conscious or unconscious.
¥ Our thoughts gain power through our emotional attachments to them.
¥ When we accept responsibility for our thoughts we take charge of our lives.
¥ We are always manifesting. Our thoughts determine what we manifest.

Choose your thoughts well. Your life depends upon it!
