Angel support group
MINNEAPOLIS -- "Open up to love!" A new four-step angel support group is
forming at Lake Harriet Spiritual Community to offer support, guidance, healing and
messages from the Angels to lightworkers seeking to fulfill their soul purpose. The
four steps (the number four represents the Angelic realm) emphasize connection, healing,
empowerment and transformation. Handouts and tools for communicating with the Angels
will be part of every meeting, as well as group sharing, co-listening, hands-on healing,
and long, heart-nurturing hugs.
This group is a great adjunct to 12-Step recovery work. It also supports those who
are without any specific addiction, yet are seeking a deeper connection with the
Divine -- in themselves, in each other, in everything. With the help of the Angels
as our "coaches from the other side," we nurture one another on our journey
-- and from this nexus of support and love, we gain the strength and vision to go
out and transform our world!
The Circle will meet on the second Sunday of each month from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Earth
Room of Lake Harriet Spiritual Community, 4401 Upton Ave. S., Minneapolis. The first
meeting will be January 11, 2004. This is a free, public event (love offering donation
will be collected to cover cost of space and support the Circle). For more information,
call (612) 922-4272.
Byron Katie introduces "The Work"
MINNEAPOLIS -- Byron Katie, the originator of the exceptional self-help process called
The Work and the woman described by TIME magazine as "a visionary for the new
millennium," will visit Minneapolis on January 14, 2004, for a public event,
sponsored by The Learning Annex.
It's a chance to witness Katie warmly guiding one person after another through their
troubles and fears, demonstrating how four simple questions can help them solve their
most difficult problems. Katie, who has the demeanor of a wise and loving parent
or friend, is committed to making The Work available to as many people as possible.
Eckhart Tolle, renowned author of the bestseller The Power of Now, calls Katie "a
great blessing for our planet."
During the last fifteen years, nearly 300,000 people have attended these public sessions,
and thousands who use The Work around the world attest to its transformational power.
Her book Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life has been translated
into 16 languages. The paperback was published December 23. Motivational speaker
Tony Robbins calls her book "a powerful glimpse into the heart of what it takes
to be truly happy." Actor Richard Chamberlain claims that The Work helped him
"get in touch with the truth." Time Out New York recently told its readers,
"You just know it's going to be huge."
The event is from 6:45-9:30 p.m. To register, call 1 (888) 53ANNEX or (612) 943-9273
or go to the web at www.learningannex.com. The cost of the course is $44, or $39
for members. There is a $5 discount for those registering via the web.

Kaishan Golden Shield
MINNEAPOLIS -- Kaishan Golden Shield is an ancient Chinese energy practice originated
by monks needing a way to strengthen and stimulate their bodies after long periods
of meditation. Golden Shield is a rare style of Qi Gong designed to build the human
energy body extremely quickly. By building and cleansing all of the systems of your
body, Kaishan Golden Shield helps you rediscover your natural ability to maintain
remarkably high levels of physical and mental health.
This January, Kaishan Golden Shield is being introduced at a live demonstration here
in Minneapolis. The lecture/demonstration will be at the Yoga Centers of Minneapolis.
The first demonstration will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at the Downtown Studio
at 212 3rd Ave. N., Minneapolis. A second introductory demonstration will be at 6:30
p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, in the St. Louis Park Studio at 4215 Excelsior Blvd., in
St. Louis Park, Minn.
The first class will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at the St. Louis Park Yoga Center.
Mary Ida Adams, of Fairfield, Iowa, will be present a free lecture/demonstration.
She has been involved with meditation and energy work for 31 years and has been with
the Kaishan Institute for the past four years. She currently instructs in Iowa.
As a very potent internal energy system, Golden Shield combines the elements of a
physical practice with meditations and traditional herbal preparations. Reasons for
beginning the Kaishan Golden Shield training will vary for each person. Many reasons
include, health, well-being, physical stamina, longevity, augmentation of a martial
or meditative background, or curiosity.
Traditionally kept secret, this knowledge from ancient China was passed down from
teacher to student, one or two students at a time. It is being taught to the public
for the first time throughout the U.S. Dr. Zhang co-established the Kaishan Institute
of Natural Health with lead instructor Ed Fleischman in 1996. Kaishan's completely
unique internal energy system has been tested and proven by hundreds in Texas, Illinois,
Michigan, Iowa, California, Colorado, Arizona, British Columbia and New York.
