Did
we just enter the Twilight Zone?
by
Aluna Joy Yaxk'in, with the Star Elders
Just as you thought life couldn't get any weirder -- it did!
You don't have to be a super psychic to feel that the energy
has accelerated with a strange new twist recently. ...This
transformational, evolutionary amplified energy has certainly
gotten everyone's attention. Something has shifted and you
are not real sure what this means, what caused it and how
you fit into the new energy. You find yourself questioning
who you are and why you are here with a renewed vengeance.

Neil:
'Sing a Song for Freedom
Sing a Song for Love'
From
the Editor
| by Tim Miejan
On his
latest recording, Greendale, Neil Young shares with
us the lives of the Green family -- Edith and Earl, and their
daughter Sun Green, Sun's cousin, Jed, and Grandma and Grandpa,
as well as others who live in and around this fictional town
on the Pacific shoreline. We learn about Earl's passion to
paint and his visit with the devil, Jed's poor decisions that
lead to him shoot Officer Carmichael to death, and Grandpa's
wisdom, and his fatal heart attack when news reporters swarm
the family home to get his response to Jed's violent act.
Sun Green, the daughter of a Vietnam veteran, creates crop
art opposing war and begins "speakin' out against anything
unjust or packed with lies." |

Broken Pact
The
Movie Mystic
| by Stephen Simon
The
financial model for Hollywood Studios no longer works and
the studios know it. Regardless of box-office receipts, the
bottom line is bleeding red ink, the corporate takeover of
the studios has destroyed innovation, and there is a quiet
panic in the hallways of power.
Hollywood Studios have gone the way of network television
-- lowest common denominator programming. Much as in cable
programming in television, the only interesting and imaginative
filmmaking today is happening with Independent films. |
FREEDOM
| OUR FEATURED TOPIC in OCTOBER
Free
to Fly...
by
Wendy Garrett
I have no idea how I got here. I have no idea where "here"
really is or why it is more desirable than there. I understand
I have been given certain abilities and talents and I have
a brain and physical and intuitive senses to process information
that I am told is necessary to my daily life. I have been
socialized and conditioned from the time I was born to ease
my assimilation into the lock step of the daily grind. I can
choose to go along with that program or I can rebel and take
a great risk of losing all that has given me comfort and all
those who have provided support.
Vedanta
and the Voice of Freedom
In
Faith
| by
Linda Prugh
"The
word Vedanta means the culmination of knowledge. Thousands
of years ago, Indian sages had a passionate thirst to find
Truth, and through deep meditation they discovered many universal,
spiritual laws. These experiences were later recorded in scriptures
known as the Vedas. The highest transcendental experiences
of these sages form the concluding portion of the Vedas, so
those sections are called the Vedanta.
Freedom
by
Katherine Sanders
It seems we're as free as our belief in choice. Growing up
in a very conservative Christian religion, the worldview I
was taught centered on God choosing pretty much everything
for us. There was a reason for everything, but it was "ours
not to wonder why." I struggled with this perspective
for years, attempting to logic myself through a system where
people were randomly (or by God's directive) born into completely
different worlds and then were held responsible throughout
eternity for what they made of it.
From
Auschwitz to Grandma's Marathon
The Freedom to Feel Joy!
by
Cathryn Taylor
No one event or person has taught me more about the meaning
of freedom than an experience I recently encountered while
visiting Auschwitz. The story began on my 54th birthday when
I awakened with the luxury and the freedom to reflect on how
I could use the upcoming year as a time to honor my transition
into Cronehood. Having been trained by Donna Fox in working
with the Akashic Records, I consulted my record keepers. In
the next several days, three events co-mingled to inspire
me to train for my first marathon. I chose Grandma's Marathon,
scheduled in Duluth on Summer Solstice. |
Speaking
my piece on Freedom
by
Jack Kritzer
Freedom is not just a word or concept that pertains to the
human condition. Freedom is the basis, the fuel, that allows
all things seen and unseen to participate in the unfolding
of the universe, as well as shape its ultimate destiny.
Becoming
Free
by
Bryan Bertsch
"The
Goal of the Tao is to achieve freedom. No one can rule us
inwardly and control our soul or spirit. No one. Once we realize
this, we become free."
These words were spoken to me by Master Mantak Chia two years
ago and everyday they make more sense to me.
Independence
Day
by
Steffany Barton
I took a deep breath and reminded myself of the old saying,
"The truth shall set you free."
The letter composed itself as follows:
Hi Dad--
Here is the story as it stands. I hope you're sitting down.
I have some clients tomorrow. It is a group setting. You may
wonder why I would have more than one client for a massage,
but that's because my angel work is just what it sounds like;
I talk to people's angels and deceased loved ones. I realized
I could do this about five years ago and didn't understand
it....
The
Path to Spiritual Freedom
In
Our Spirit of Unity
| by Rev. Allen Liles
Has the world gone mad and taken us with it? This is a legitimate
question given our current state of chaos and general unrest.
Is there any way to recover our sanity and emotional balance?
I believe we can regain our physical and mental equilibrium
by pursuing the path of spiritual freedom.
Spellbound
Freedom
by
Michael
Maciel
In the
recent movie Spellbound, a man, whose family immigrated
to America from India and whose son is competing in the National
Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., expresses his belief that
anyone can make it in this country if she or he works hard
enough. He emphatically asserts, however, that this is not
so in most parts of the world. It made me wonder: What is
it that makes the United States the land of opportunity? And
why is it that so many people around the globe are locked
into their circumstances with no hope of escape? |

The
Assemblage Point of Man: Root of the Soul's Life Experience
by Amy Gan
Various
Toltecs, shamans and writers have experientially approached
the mysterious Assemblage Point. Authors Carlos Castenada,
Jessie Ayani and Ken Eagle Feather have recorded it in written
stories and through the oral tradition. It is said that the
Assemblage Point allows shamanic practitioners to access and
travel other realities by internally maneuvering and moving
their assemblage points. These possibilities sound incredulous,
mysterious, scary and exciting all at the same time. However,
beyond the esoteric, the Assemblage Point is real and has
been measured and verified by scientific testing.
William
Tiller on the Bridge from Science to Spirit
by
Brad Masters
William
Tiller began more than 40 years of scientific research with
a doctorate in physical metallurgy. From this scientific discipline
rooted deeply in the physical to the nebulous border between
Spirit and Science, Professor Tiller has published 250 scientific
papers, written three technical books and garnered numerous
honors. Dr. Tiller has also published 80 additional papers
on "subtle energy," authored three books on subtle
energy, and is one of the founding directors of Institute
of Noetic Sciences. It is Tiller's stature in both communities
that gives so much credence to his work in what I call "healing
energy." |

Art
as Life, Trees as Art, An interview with Alis Olsen
Art
& the Divine | by
Dawn Vogel
We see
them every day, enjoy them, climb them, draw them and lean
against them, but do we really stop to listen to them? Trees
are everywhere. Big ones, small ones, old ones, young ones,
leaves of green and crimson red, leaves of gold and forest
bed. Maples, birch, oaks and palms, apple, orange, short and
tall. Granted, there are those who live more daily intertwined
with trees. More likely, aside from spring where by nature
our eyes are upon them as their beauty captures our awareness,
most of us do not make trees a daily part of our conversation
and attention.
Art making is one means to make the unseen seen, and to bring
attention to that which we may know and forgot, may need a
reminder of or simply never looked at in the first place.
Alis Olsen is a local artist who knowingly and unknowingly
is playing a role "to draw" (pun intended) on the
beauty and wisdom of trees, with an added punch of "political
commentary."

Creative Change:
Step 3 Clarify Your Vision and Develop a Strategy
by
Rosanne Bane
Step
3 of the Creative Change Process is to clarify the vision
and develop a strategy to achieve it. You know you need to
move, to start the change journey. You have enrolled allies
to help you scout new locations, pack, carry and so on to
make the move. Now you have get clear about exactly where
you are going and how you're going to get there.

Feng
Shui for the Big Picture: Getting the Right Fit
Wind
& Water
| by Carole Hyder
For
years I tried on the idea like a new outfit, but it just never
fit right. Something about it was uncomfortable. I'd put the
idea back in the closet and, for a while, I could ignore it.
But every now and then, there it would be again. I'd re-investigate
it, wondering if it would fit this time. No, not now. Then
one morning, about a year ago, I woke up, took the idea off
the hanger, put it on and saw that it fit perfectly. I let
some of my closest colleagues see me in this new form. They
all assured me it was time to wear the outfit proudly.
Principle
#6: The Principle of Conscious Change
Mind
Chatter
| by
Bill Harris
Every
time I sit down to write an article about one of these principles,
I undergo a few moments of indecision. Why? Because these
principles are, in a way, very enigmatic, in the sense that
they are elegantly simple and, at the same time, densely impenetrable.
Until you "get" each principle, it seems inconceivable,
unable to be understood, impractical, unhelpful. Though each
of these principles can be understood and integrated into
your life in an instant, in actual practice it can take years
for the real meaning, in a practical sense, to dawn on you.
Autumn's
Wave of Light
The
Light Page
| by
Suzie Black
Why
are you here? We are a coalescing of light from higher dimensions,
and the light is drawn to certain essence energies. The Soul
seeks to create in the purist form possible. Is there an essence
or energy to which you are continually drawn? Growth is a
purification of the essence energies.

Regression
Therapy & Soul Lessons
by
Joseph Costa
Those
of us who believe in soul lesson learning know that what keeps
our life in chaos is a lesson to be put in its place. Such
a lesson seems to repeat itself again and again. When we examine
regressions of our client/patients, we can often trace a recurring
condition or trauma into the past and eventually find the
soul lesson being dealt with.
October
2003: The Journey of Alpha Omega
Astrology
| by John Sandbach
On October
25, Saturn goes retrograde in cancer, less than a degree away
from an opposition to the planet Chiron. This is felt strongly
during all of October and into the first half of November.
Chiron, a small planet or planetoid of recent discovery (1977),
has an orbit between those of Saturn and Uranus. The first
astrologers to write on Chiron said that it ruled healing,
and one named it specifically the "wounded healer."
This idea is based on the Greek myth of Chiron the centaur,
who had powerful healing abilities but who could not heal
himself.

The Gift of Spiritual Power
by
Bob Fickes
Human
life was created in the image of God. God's Consciousness
is within us and Spiritual Power is our birthright. But, God
has not been locatable, a mystery; and Spiritual Power has
been lost in modern life. Modern science has trained our minds
to think of life only in the physical: What we can see is
what is real. Unfortunately, we have lost the ability to see
beyond the physical and discover the hidden Spiritual Truths
that our ancestors once believed in. |
