Exploring the Akasha
An Edge Life Expo Preview: An Interview with Donna Fox

by Tim Miejan

Donna Fox is an explorer. She takes people into a field of information, a storehouse of knowledge, that has existed as long as your soul. With astute questions, she uncovers information that not only helps people move forward in their lives, but deeper in their connection with Source.

One of the most popular presenters at the first Edge Life Expo and the one that followed last year, Donna Fox returns to present "The Akashic Records & You: Forgiveness, Love & The Divine"
from 3:30-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, in the Minneapolis Convention Center. She will share profound information from the Akashic records, teach you what they are, why they are available to us now and how to use them in your daily life to gain clarity, expand creativity and heal relationships. Donna also is an exhibitor at the Expo and will be available throughout the event to answer your personal questions about this most unique journey.

After having opened her Akashic records open, she spoke with The EDGE by phone from her home in Cleveland, Ohio.

You're returning to your third Edge Life Expo in November. Describe your experiences doing the first two events and why you would encourage someone who has not attended to do so?
Donna Fox:
The first year was pretty amazing in and of itself, because I hadn't been to Minneapolis for a couple of years prior to that, so the welcome I received when I did my first talk for The EDGE was truly overwhelming and very heartfelt. I knew I loved the people in Minneapolis and the Twin Cities and Minnesota before I got there and that really cemented it for me. That was a good Expo, but the second year was even better -- and I look forward to this third year to be explosive.

I have a deep sense that it will be whole different ballgame in this particular Expo. We are moving further into a new millennium that already has seen so much happen, both physically and environmentally from a catastrophic point of view, as well as individual blessings within all of our lives. Energetically, people are truly on the edge of deciding what their choices are for their futures. During this particular Expo, it is my sense, people will be not only delving into their own personal belief systems and exploring others, but really concretizing the belief systems that have been circulating around them that they haven't been able to put their arms around.

I love that word "concretizing." Making more solid.
Fox:
What's happening now, from an energetic point of view, is that the true leaders of the metaphysical or expanded consciousness, or expanded culture consciousness, if you will, are truly the ones who are grounded in the "today" as well as are able to integrate that metaphysical, that love, the integration of light within their every day. The true leaders are the ones who walk solidly grounded on the Earth with their heart open to all that is around them, both in front of them as well as within their depths and beyond. The expanded consciousness grounded in the Earth will shift our consciousness as we gather around these wonderful leaders.

I think people are going to be looking at each other a bit differently within this Expo, because we are all opening up energetically to each other in a way that we never have before. People are actually beginning to read each other's energy as they walk towards them. What I'm being told now is that you will hear and see people recognizing others from the past -- and it's an energetic recognition. You'll hear more and more people say, "Gee, you look so familiar to me." That "You look familiar to me" is another way of saying, "I feel familiar with your energy." The more that happens, the more we really recognize and admit that we are one and really embrace that.

Give us an idea of the type of information you might receive from the records. What is taking place now in human evolution and how can each of us make the process go as smoothly as possible?
Fox:
I would like individuals to begin to notice where their judgments lie. Evidently, this is a bit of what I'm going to be speaking about at the Expo. Begin to just notice your judgments, without judgment of self. Every judgment that we carry closes another part of our heart. And it's very important that people understand that love cannot abide where judgment lives. You may have fleeting experiences of it, but the full experience of love is what we all come to Earth for. We come to experience true, Divine love and that peacefulness while in duality, while in body. That's what everyone tries to accomplish, but maybe not consciously,

Now, I'm not talking about Ascension here. I'm talking essentially about the game we play in coming into duality. The game of blind man's bluff and forgetting who we are and trying to remember and experiencing those who have lowered their vibration to such an extent so as to pretend "to be the bad guy" so that we may experience our experiences. The reason I'm saying that is because it's not about learning. It's about experiencing. Forgiveness can only happen when we open ourselves to truly love the experience, which is very hard to do in many cases.

Yes, if it's a painful experience.
Fox:
Of course. However, the pain is what's shielding the love. The love is hiding behind the pain. When I say "love," I'm not referring to passionate, romantic love. People believe that forgiveness lets the other person -- the "perpetrator" -- off the hook, and that's not what forgiveness is about. When one can open to the love of the experience, it's opening to the love of self for the ultimate soul choice of experiencing that which is unpleasant in body.

Expand on the idea of pain, about it shielding the love. The key would be to go through the pain, right? Not to dwell on it or stay in that space, but to feel it and actually move through it.
Fox:
Exactly. And the same goes with fear. You see, when a person stays stuck in the pain, they take on the victim stance and thoughts go toward revenge or self-pity. I'm not trying to minimize the traumatic aspect of the soul intention choices. From a physical and personality point of view, they're clearly, in many cases, overwhelming. I'm not at all discounting that. What I am saying is that to hold onto that pain and hold onto that revenge or hold onto the anger or hold on even to the fear of moving forward only fuels that judgment and fuels that pain more. That's what blocks the love.

From a relationship point of view, when a person has a painful relationship or even an abusive relationship, no matter what the age, the true person that the individual is angry at is him or herself for accepting or choosing the experience. The key is to truly look at that as an experience. Of course, this takes some work. This is not an overnight thing, but as soon as you can understand that if you release the pain, you have your whole life to make other choices that are not dependent on this pain.

Now, that in itself can be a very scary thing, because people in some cases are so used to living with pain that the idea of living pain-free brings about a whole new paradigm of responsibility.

And some people go through their whole lives not wanting to take that step.
Fox:
Right. Because many times they're afraid they can't handle that responsibility of living pain free. Other people live in pain because that's how they have been conditioned to help them know that they're alive. I believe all of these are soul choices of experience, however I also believe you can change your contract at any time. Like, "OK, got this, now let's move on." But, you really have to "get it" in order to move on. The thing is, some people who live in pain and fear and crisis seem to constantly have "bad luck" over and over again. They're constantly living in crisis. And, unfortunately, a lot of these people don't want to hear the fact that they're making these choices.

That mindset can be shifted in a moment when they start looking at these situations that come to them with a different attitude. And, all of a sudden, you can shift it and it won't happen any more. But underlying it is the fear and the anger and revenge and even anger at God that, until that gets neutralized, you can't shift the attitude.

Is there a shift in human evolution that will make it easier to move through all this?
Fox:
Yes, it's happening now. It is absolutely happening now. The shift in evolution that's happening now is that there are many people standing up and saying, "I no longer want to have this pain. I'm really ready to shift into something, shift my awareness." Not to get too political, but you sense that shift by the way the leaders of the world are being dealt with, by the way certain candidates are coming up for the choice of the people. You can tell by the changes in certain areas of education, the way that there are certain schools that are being created for the Indigo children. These are opening and beginnings that weren't there 20 years ago. And so it is shifting -- because it has to shift.

How would you describe your purpose or reason for being here on the planet now?
Fox:
I truly believe that I am one of many other people who are committed to anchoring light, and I am one of a few who are being the messenger of the Akasha. I also believe that for me, this particular lifetime is about learning to let go and receiving. As I do that, I provide information or an observation for others. This lifetime is one of me as being not only a student, but a teacher.

What was your first experience like of opening the Akashic records?
Fox:
Oh, that was just wonderful.

What was the experience like?
Fox:
I was in a large class, and we were asked to write down why we thought we were in the class, or we wrote about a problem a particular situation in our lives. This was before we learned how to open the records. It was a journaling exercise. And then we were taught how to open the records and we were asked to ask the same questions. The difference in the information and the purity of it and the energy of love that came forward was truly overwhelming for me. I totally felt like I was home, and it's like they had been waiting for me to come full circle to come back into this world, this energy.

I was clearly drawn to the word "Akasha." I had never really read much about Edgar Cayce, whose information came from the Akashic records, until after I started working with the records.

What's most important is that I learned and I really understood that the information that I receive when I'm working with someone else, or when I'm writing an article, or like when I'm talking to you with the Akashic records open is clearly not about me. It's about what is for the highest good of the work at that time. When I'm working with myself, the information comes so lovingly and with such dynamic choice. The information is given to you and then it's your free will choice whether or not you want to move forward with it or not.

How you will respond to it.
Fox:
You can choose to do the work or you can choose not to, but nevertheless you are no less loved. This information is being presented and when you're ready to accept it, so be it.

In general terms, what happens when you open your own records? Is it like a part of you, your soul, is traveling somewhere and looking at something? What is actually taking place?
Fox:
When I open my own records, I feel my energy shift. It is as if a part of me moves over. Nothing enters me, but I feel a very powerful force, an energetic force. It's almost as if information is being downloaded into me. Sometimes I'll hear a voice, but it's really more of a download of information at this point after working so long with the records.

So the opening of the records involves a higher energy that is merging with your energy?
Fox:
Absolutely. The actual prayer to open the records is the energetic key that literally shifts the energy around me or whoever opens their own records. It shifts the vibration. It shifts the energy to make the information accessible and, quite honestly, what happens is that my energy, the energy of the human, literally speeds up, even though it feels like a slowing down, and the energy of the higher beings slows down. It's as if we meet in the middle. This process is literally an energetic shift. Sometimes people find they fall asleep with the records open. Not that I recommend it, but it does happen.

What exactly are the records?
Fox:
The Akashic records are the energetic recording of your soul's journey over every lifetime. Every thought, word and deed are registered in the records. The records help to understand the progress or the lineage of experience. The reason people want to learn about their records or have a consultation or learn how to open their own is that the records themselves are a part of our DNA. For people who don't believe in past lives, the Akashic records are like the DNA within our bodies. All of your ancestral connections can be read within DNA. From an energetic point of view, the history of your lifetime as a soul in density is registered in the records.

The Akashic records are a tool. They are not a belief system. They are a tool that people use to enhance their life. A person can open the records for personal growth, to enhance and expand their creativity, to more appreciate beautiful music and art, to read sacred text to help understand the underlying meanings, to help understand how to best serve someone they love and heal relationships and to help understand how to better approach either a business idea or partnership or even their own career. The records will never tell you what to do. They will always give you the information you need in order to make the appropriate choices. The key is learning how to ask the questions.

What led you to devote more of your time, in fact your career, toward sharing this information?
Fox:
I chuckle, because I always wanted to talk about God and I never knew how I was going to do that. Working with the Akashic energy is so Divinely directed that I feel so much in the flow.

I found the records at a time in my life when I had some challenges that I needed to work out. A friend of mine suggested that I get an Akashic record reading. I didn't know what it was, and when I finally got the reading, the information was so pure and I felt so drawn to it that I attended a workshop to learn how. From that point forward, it was like I didn't have a choice. It's like I had to do it.

I've never been bored with this process. It has always fascinated me. I feel so at peace with it, because I feel so at service with it. And I have gone through my own evolution with this work. The more you work with this energy, the deeper you go, and the deeper you go the more you learn, and the more you learn, the more you accept, and the more you accept, the more peaceful you become. And so, working with the Akashic energy is something that is a lifelong journey and experience -- and it gets better as you move deeper.
