| The Dawn of a New Age: Reflections from a Child of the New Earth by Amy Schmelzer Humanity is on the brink of a wonderful new reality. It is happening already. Do you feel it? On a day when it is bright and sunny outside, and the sunshine warms your face, and the gentle breeze caresses you softly, do you feel it? When it is dark and gloomy outside, even here in "Tornado Alley," the sky black and foreboding, do you feel it? Even amidst the talk of war and tragedy, fear and disease, there is a scent in the air, a change in the atmosphere, an influx of Light that catches my attention on occasion to tell me that, "Yes...the time has arrived. It is here." As my involvement with other "Children of the New Earth" -- the Indigos, the Crystals -- grows, I realize the sheer quantity of us who seem to have the call of "leader" inscribed into the marrow of our bones, etched into our hearts, scripted in our souls. Many of us know that we have done the "Earth thing" many, many times before. Some of us feel that we would not have chosen to come back, was it not for our tremendous Love for humanity and the Earth plane and our desire to be of service in the rapid transition of humanity at a most exciting time in the Earth's history. But, in a very real, beautifully mundane sense, all metaphysical things aside, we know, as sure as the sun does shine, that we have come, most importantly, to usher in a beautiful new world of increased Love, peace, understanding, integrity and empowerment. The quality of this leadership, too, is changing. We are beginning, first and foremost, to follow the leader of our own inner guidance. And we will be moved, inspired and choose as leaders those who are most masterful in this way. They will be identified by their humility, desire to serve, and their Love. They will not look so much to be the leader but will find that the positions just seem to present themselves wherever they go. It is simply a matter of energy -- of vibration -- of our inherent desire to constantly move upward and onward. The leaders will be those tuning forks who hold a higher vibration for others to attune to. It will not be so much about what they say or what they do, for these are the natural outpourings of the true treasure of their being, which is their heart of gold and the pure, life-giving, life-sustaining Love that pours forth from their every breath, that emanates from their every cell, even in their silence. And on the journey to the full realization of this world, there is much for each of us to do, for each of us to Be, if we so choose. We are in a continual state of healing, of remembering, of knowing our vastness intellectually and then experientially. We have the choice to undo our programming and to allow our authenticity its due and full expression. We have the choice to honor ourselves through that process - -to honor our boundaries and the boundaries of others as we move into new and different levels of Being. And as each one of us chooses and moves along this path, the leaders will naturally emerge. They will be the ones who are unafraid to live their lives differently. They will be the ones who will re-define what it means to "think outside the box." They will be the pioneers, groping around in the dark, in uncharted territory. They will be the ones who will emerge at the end of the tunnel and find themselves in new Paradise. They are the ones who will then call back to the others and say, "Yes, it is beautiful out here! Keep coming!" They will be the ones who will serve as living, breathing proof that yes, this too, and more, is possible. They will do this in our places of business and in our system of government. They will show up in our schools and in our systems of healthcare, agriculture, and systems that we haven't even created yet. They will be the friends or the couples who will blaze new trails in our understanding of Love and relationship, giving their friends and family cause for reflection. The leaders will be found in every layer and aspect of our culture, our society, our world. They will do things drastically different at times. And at other times, they will introduce their ideas so gently, with such subtlety that it seems as if nothing is really changing. Whatever is necessary, whatever increases efficiency, whatever improves effectiveness, whatever serves the Greatest Good, whatever comes from Love...that is what they will do. And it all begins with an intent to be held in every human heart -- to be in the world as authentically and lovingly as possible, in every moment. And as more and more individuals take on such a focus -- to Love themselves more, to be more honest with themselves, to be more compassionate, more understanding, more forgiving of themselves...to confront their limiting beliefs, their doubts, and their fears, as they feel called to, who they are in relationship to the world will begin to shift and change. With every individual that is fortified, the ties that bind -- our relationships -- grow stronger. With every relationship that is strengthened, the web of life that connects us all glows brighter and brighter with the power of Love. Ultimately, as each individual expands his/her awareness of Self, it helps to bridge the gap between the world that we have known and the bright and beautiful world, full of promise, that the Children of the New Earth have come to usher in. The magic is already happening.
