The Partners Within:
Using Prayer and Meditation to Improve your Life

Once, people believed that they existed in the same universe as the Divine. When
kings, queens, shamans or shepherds were confused by a dilemma, a God would speak
to them. The enraptured mortal would hear this counsel and act in accordance with
the Deity's wish.
Today, however, it seems few of us feel connected to a power greater than our own.
In our modern world, we understand the stories of that earlier age as fables at best.
Although most of us continue to believe in Superior Beings, many of us consider the
personal interaction of humanity and the Divine as only a dream.
But it is sad to believe that mankind is alone in the universe. Whenever we rely
on the reality of our "human" powers, we limit ourselves to the survival
skills of our unique physical, intellectual, emotional and cultural/spiritual heritage.
However, once we choose to develop our "higher" powers, we open up to an
incredible prosperity of Pure Love that brings forth new instincts for the Body,
inspirations for the Mind, intuition for the Heart and wisdom for the Soul. The
Partners Within offers 10 prayer meditations that build partnerships between
our human and higher powers. These partnerships use prayer to guide our behavior
and thoughts and meditation to nurture our feelings and beliefs. The first seven
partnerships start with colors for the right-brain and the last three use words for
the left-brain. The key to mastering these partnerships is simple: practice. The
goal is to bring both brains together, creating a "partner within" that
begins a journey to the Highest Power of all, Pure Love. Ultimately, allowing us
to bring our reality and dreams together as one.
Relax. Slow down. Sit back. Take three deep breaths. Look to the sky. Close your
eyes. Quiet your mind. Shut out the world. Go deep within yourself. And now, open
up to the power of Pure Love.
1. RED -- POWER -- ME
Picture a Brilliant Red Light while chanting the words "POWER -- ME."
Visualize the color Red empowering a quartet of entities: your physical Body, your
intellectual Mind, your emotional Heart and your spiritual Soul. Imagine the Body
and Mind as your unique human powers. Imagine the Heart and Soul as your potential
higher powers. Meditate with Red on bringing together the best in all of your powers,
allowing ever more Pure Love to enter your life.
2. ORANGE -- CLEAN -- PAST
Picture a Fiery Orange Light while chanting the words "CLEAN -- PAST."
Visualize the color Orange cleaning your past of the occasional burdens of the Body's
lost opportunities, the Mind's unfortunate choices, the Heart's unloving partnerships
and the Soul's lonely journey. See yourself discarding the lower powers of hate,
jealousy, greed and revenge. See yourself embracing the higher virtues of reason,
humility, integrity and charity. Reflect on Orange surrounding past successes. Refresh
your image of yourself with positive feelings and free your creative energies for
continual self-improvement.
3. YELLOW -- HEAL -- NOW
Picture a Golden Yellow Light while chanting the words "HEAL -- NOW."
Visualize the color Yellow healing any aspect of your Body, Mind, Heart and Soul
by using the power of your decision-making abilities in the ever-present "now."
Contemplate with Yellow and unite with a Higher Source that guides your Body's behavior,
your Mind's thoughts, your Heart's feelings and your Soul's beliefs, helping you
make new choices that are in the best interests of all.
4. GREEN -- GROW -- CARE
Picture an Emerald Green Light while chanting the words "GROW -- CARE."
Visualize the color Green growing your compassion while performing the skills you
love. Imagine yourself growing stronger in your caring for others while working to
improve the economic, political, social and cultural systems of your world. Meditate
with Green stimulating your care and reverence for the intricate web of life that
sustains us all.
5. BLUE -- TRUST -- SERVE
Picture a Sky Blue Light while chanting the words "TRUST -- SERVE."
Visualize the color Blue radiating trust in this fact: the better you serve, the
better you will be served in return. See yourself trusting the universal prohibitions
against stealing, lying, anarchy and terror. Meditate with Blue while living by the
Golden Rule among the families, friends, associations and communities you are involved
with.
6. INDIGO -- LISTEN -- LEARN
Picture a Deep Indigo Light while chanting the words "LISTEN -- LEARN."
Visualize the color Indigo and listen to your Body and Mind, learning the difference
between right and wrong. Visualize Indigo and listen to your Heart and Soul, reinforcing
your distinction between good and evil. Use Indigo to understand all you can about
your Body's awareness, your Mind's analysis, your Heart's passions and your Soul's
reverence, making things better for yourself and for all.
7. PURPLE -- PURPOSE -- PEACE
Picture a Royal Purple Light while chanting the words "PURPOSE -- PEACE."
Visualize the color Purple strengthening the purpose of prayer meditation: to be
at peace with yourself through time and practice. Meditate with Purple on developing
inner peace, for this is where you will discover comfort for the Body, contentment
for the Mind, affection for the Heart and guidance for the Soul.
8. LORD -- GOD -- KAR
Chant the words "LORD -- GOD -- KAR." Visualize Lord awakening your human
powers. Visualize God guiding your higher powers. Visualize Kar as a Quartet of Highest
Karma that brings new Instincts for the Body, Inspirations for the Mind, Intuition
for the Heart and Wisdom for the Soul. Meditate on these sources of Pure Love; they
come from a True Love that cannot betray. When Lord resides in your Body and Mind,
God will manifest itself in your Heart and Soul and the power of Kar will enter your
life.
9. JESUS -- MARY -- GRACE
Chant the words "JESUS -- MARY -- GRACE." Visualize an amazing Grace that
is readily available from an infinite variety of male and female guardian angels,
spirit guides, patron saints or deceased prophets. Substitute your preferred names
for this invocation. These Spiritual Beings come from an enormous pool of "Intermediaries"
that is ready and eager to assist your human powers of survival and your higher powers
of prosperity. Feel your love for them grow and you will feel their love for you
in return. Meditate on the power of their Grace for they offer a pathway to the Highest
Source.
10. LIGHT -- LOVE -- ONE
Chant the words "LIGHT -- LOVE -- ONE." Visualize a pure white Light and
the beautiful warmth of Love permeating your entire being. Light represents your
human powers of awareness and ideas. Love represents your higher powers of compassion
and respect. The One represents a vision of a Love so Pure it creates Love whenever
requested. Meditate on the power of this brilliant white Light and the boundless
energy of Love, empowering one partnership of your entire Body, Mind, Heart and Soul.
We bring them together for the benefit of all. AMEN
As we bring more Pure Love into our lives, we magnify our sense of feeling loved.
We expand the excitement and joy of being truly alive. We become empowered to love
and act in the conduct of good will for ourselves and for all of humanity. The Divine
is still with us and touches our everyday lives. According to the 14th century Florentine
poet Dante Alighieri, "God is the love that moves the sun and all the stars."
We need only to seek it, and listen.
