Meditation and Healing
by Bryan Bertsch
Global healing and the growth of the individual go hand in hand. For a global healing
to occur, it is necessary for each individual to go through a self-healing process.
One of the best tools for the individual to heal oneself is through meditation.
Meditation is a step in self-discovery. Meditation allows you to connect to your
soul, while you become mindful of your complete reality. By practicing meditation,
you learn how to become sensitive to your subtle energies. Then you learn how to
transform your energies. As you progress you learn how to direct your energy and
become your own creator, learning how to shape your reality. This leads to self-empowerment.
And by connecting to your soul, you are more likely to take part in behavior that
is in tune with your highest path. It opens up your communication lines to your higher
self and you can heal through natural means. As more and more people heal individually,
the whole Earth vibration shifts and the world begins to heal.
This is a powerful message, and as we learn that the power is truly within the individual,
we cease to struggle in mass epidemics that "we don't have any control over,"
When I first made my personal healing and transformation a priority, I remember asking
a friend how one would go about healing the planet. His answer is still with me,
"...One person at a time." Each of us is the microcosm of the macrocosm.
If we want a healing at the global level (macrocosm), we must first heal ourselves
(microcosm).
One of the things I've learned over my journey is that the only thing I have complete
control over is myself. But there is power in that statement, because I have complete
control over every aspect of myself. So rather than try and "fix" an external
reality, it is time for each person to focus their efforts within and start with
which we have control!
Before we attempt to solve the world problems through "policies" or "wars,"
we need to learn how to heal our own selves. To try and fix the problems externally
is akin to looking into the mirror and trying to change the mirror! That just doesn't
work. The notion that the government or some other organization will solve our problems
is faulty; rather we are each responsible to clean up and fine tune our own energy,
which will naturally lead to a more harmonious world. By meditating, we can achieve
this. And the great part about it is this also brings the power back to the people!
No longer will you be a victim of the government, big-corporations or any other entity.
Meditation creates self-empowerment, and through meditation you learn that nobody
has control of your spirit. There is great freedom in that understanding.
Through meditation, the individual can learn to balance their negative emotions into
positive vitality. Instead of carrying around negativity, one can learn to recycle
it and, most importantly, learn from it. Meditation is prayer to oneself. It is learning
to forgive oneself. It is learning to love oneself and most important to show compassion
for oneself! If we each loved and showed compassion for ourselves, then we would
have respect for all others and live in harmony with the Earth and nature. This idea
is very easy. The discipline to take the steps necessary to live this way can be
difficult. But if you stay clear with your intent, you can make it through the difficult
times. As more and more individuals begin their personal healing, a global healing
takes shape.
Meditation is one important step to our global health. We are all creators on this
Earth. As more people realize this and live their lives with more mindfulness, we
will all witness the positive changes that WE create!
