Tapestry for 9/11 victims
MINNEAPOLIS -- A life-size tapestry to honor and remember the victims of the September
11th terrorist attacks is being created by local textile artist Mindy de Marmion.
The purpose of the tapestry, "Towers of Peace -- A Tapestry of Remembrance and
Unity," is to serve as a healing symbol for the victims of the World Trade Center,
the Pentagon and the Pennsylvania plane crash, as well as to honor these victims
as heroes.
Once the tapestry is created, it will be presented to New York City, Washington D.C.,
and Somerset County, Pa., for display purposes.
The tapestry will be created from garments owned by the victims of September 11th.
To create this tribute, all families of all victims worldwide will be invited to
contribute a piece of fabric from a garment that belonged to each of the victims.
These pieces will be joined together to create the tapestry. The name and birthdate
of each victim will be permanently inscribed on the back of the tapestry.
A not-for-profit corporation of the same name, Towers of Peace -- A Tapestry of Remembrance
and Unity, has been created to handle the logistics involved in creating the tapestry.
First National Bank of the Lakes, Navarre, Minn., will serve as the funds host for
the tapestry project.
Mindy de Marmion, owner of Pieced on Earth by Late Bloomers, a local textile arts
business, has been creating wearable art, wall pieces and hand-dyed textiles for
six years. Her work has appeared in galleries and boutiques in the Minneapolis and
Duluth areas.
"The events of September 11th absolutely devastated me," she said, "and
I searched not only for a healing outlet for my own grief, but also for a way to
use my art to help heal the wound that terrorism has inflicted on our world. This
tapestry is my way of honoring the heroes of September 11th, and also honoring America's
unwavering commitment to freedom."

Brigid's House blossoms
PARK RAPIDS, Minn. -- Brigid's House, a center of healing and a
community
resource, began with a vision of a place where like-minded people
could come together in community,
away from the chaos and harshness of daily life, and reconnect with
their body, mind and spirit. Brenda Mason and Jeanne Marie Troge
carried this vision in their hearts for many years. It was birthed
at a Reiki Retreat at Sunrise Ranch, an intentional community,
in Loveland Colo., in June, 2001. Inspired by that community,
they were inspired bring their vision into reality in the northwoods
resort town of Park Rapids.
Through the wisdom of a dream, the name, "Brigid's House" was born. Brigid
is the Celtic Goddess of healing who was later Christianized as St. Brigid. Brenda
and Jeanne bring the skills and services of healing to Park Rapids. Brenda studied
massage at Sister Rosalind Gefre's School of Massage in Fargo, N.D., and Myofascial
Release and Cranial Sacral techniques in Sedona, Ariz. She also is a Reiki Master
and a Karuna Reiki Master.
Jeanne is a teacher, healer, counselor and minister. She focuses on transpersonal
psychology, eco-psychology, indigenous healing practices and grief and bereavement
counseling and education. She has worked as a family counselor for the past nine
years. Jeanne is also an ordained minister of the Circle of the Sacred Earth Church,
Inc., a church based upon shamanic practices and principles. She is a Reiki Master/Teacher
and a Karuna Reiki Master/Teacher. She facilitates many workshops on shamanism, and
personal and spiritual growth, as well as rites of passage for women and adolescents,
and a twice a month drumming circle.
In addition to the healing practices the two women offer to the area, through Brigid's
House they offer a retail store offering everything from books to music to drums.
Brigid's House also has workshop space that can be rented by those who wish to share
their talents with others.
Their goal is to bring together those of like-mind, and share the wisdom of our collective
hearts. For more information, go to www.brigidshouse.com or call (218) 732-5347.
Cosmic Law lecture series
MINNEAPOLIS -- Mark L. Prophet's never before published, "The
Magic Power of Cosmic Law," a seven-part Summit University
lecture series, will be broadcast worldwide from 7-9 p.m. Thursdays
through March 21, live and on the internet from the Minneapolis-St.
Paul Community
Teaching Center at 6035 Nicollet Ave. S., Minneapolis.
"Mark Prophet's lessons on 'The Magic Power of Cosmic Law' unfold your personal
cosmic story. Journey with him as he describes living as a resident on the continent
of Atlantis when he was a Master of Invocation in the sacred temples...who knows...maybe
you were with him," says the Summit University course description.
Founder of the Summit Lighthouse and messenger of the Ascended Masters, Prophet was
renowned for both his profound understanding of spiritual law and his very entertaining
and engaging style of speaking. That style, somewhat reminiscent of Will Rogers,
someone Prophet was fond of quoting, was unique for its fire, humor and warmth of
the heart.
Among the many subjects covered by Mark Prophet in this series are: the nature of
a true alchemist; how to use the "eye-magic" of God; the lost art of levitation;
how time/space dimensions open into infinity; what caused the flood on Atlantis;
developing one's soul consciousness; the "Y" in the road or choosing between
"the right and the left-handed path;" Christ and Anti-Christ; the inner
man and the true guru; your Mighty I AM Presence; and a variety of other fascinating
spiritual topics.
Attendees can register at the door if they plan to attend the series in person in
Minnesota. Or, to attend the course online, call 1 (800) 245-5445 or (406) 848-9500,

HASTINGS, Minn. -- Have you ever dreamed of creating your own radio program? Marin
Peterson, who broadcasts "The Spirit of People" program, and Chris LaFontaine

They encourage those who are being called to speak up and offer choices other than

to sell advertising!" Peterson says. " Just focus on creating your program.
