Unlimited Breath for Unlimited Life
by Trent Nelson

While on an incredible three-week healing journey to Tibet in May with a group, Unlimited Network, with which I work closely, I was marveling at the quality of my breathing that had changed so dramatically over the last few years. If you've ever done any trekking, camping or adventuring at altitudes over 17,000 feet above sea level, you know how every breath you take becomes a meditation on gratitude for the simple, yet utterly profound experience of breathing in and out.

Having had asthma as a child (I've thankfully let that go) breathing has always been an important aspect of life for me. I can still remember the intense trips to the hospital, as I would struggle to get my lungs to function, while my mother and father would drive the car, stunned and helpless at my situation. As a healer/body and breathworker/teacher, the art and skill of breathing has fascinated me.

After going through a sub-clinical depression (like so many folks do) for years, I had the beautiful experience of falling in love with my breathing and lungs all over again -- and seeing the results in my personal life as I did so. I uncovered the taste and buzz of spirit while I learned a powerful technique called Unlimited Breath.

Rush of spirit
I know there are many methods and theories on how breathing should be done, and you probably have tried some form or another of pranayama, diaghramatic or ecstatic breathing. My own experience with these forms of breathwork has been extensive and I'm thrilled to say that the rush of spirit, the vital cleansing, the awareness and the release of emotion I get from Unlimited Breath swayed me to become a practitioner of this particular, chest breathing, technique. Breathing at all is good (remember falling off the monkey bars or slide as a kid and getting the wind knocked out of you and how good it feels when that first breath comes rushing back in?) and breathing in a way that safely invites you to feel as though your body has surely ignited with the buzz of spirit is outstanding.

As a person dedicated to experiencing and learning the most effective forms of healing, and having worked with about 3,000 people around the world during the last three years, I'm happy to report that this technique lives up to the list of benefits that most methods of healing promise, and that most people hope and pray they will deliver. My lungs and breathing feel free, my emotions feel abundant and easy, and my mind, which has created so many unhappy results for me in the past, feels astonishingly clear.

When I was thinking about writing this, I decided to share a couple of the experiences that Unlimited Breath has helped provide me with in the hopes that it may be of inspiration to you. Many people try so many different means of healing, so when one truly works I find it to be genuinely exciting. It seems almost common now to witness and experience miracles in relation to breathing nearly every day. In the past two years, I have seen my relationships saved by simply having a session of this powerful technique. My income has doubled and tripled over the last few years and my down days (which used to be months) last only hours now.

On the floor
I remember one particular day when my relationship was being seriously challenged and it seemed there was just nowhere to go with it. Separating seemed like the only thing to do. We'd tried talking it out, getting outside help in processing the problem individually, and certainly praying had become a constant activity. We had both learned the Unlimited Breath technique and decided to lie down on the floor and just do what we had learned in the Unlimited Breath workshops for an hour. Both of us had an incredible change inside as we got past the confining hold of the ego.

When breathing this way, it's nearly impossible to hold on to judgments or negativity, and in a short time the wave of spirit reminded us of why we were together in the first place -- and our hearts finally took their rightful place outshining the ego. Without being dramatic, I can say that this technique has saved my life, the quality of my life, many times over.

In Tibet, it became abundantly clear that this breathing technique had helped the other participants and myself in being able to climb around the base of the Himalayas, without having to stop every second for air. For everyday living here in America, with the very spiritual challenges of maintaining a household, relationship and a meaningful, fulfilling existence, I can highly recommend Unlimited Breath.

So, what is healing? To me, one very easy way to know if you are experiencing it is to simply ask, "Am I breathing right now?" If the answer is yes, then trust that spirit is at work for you.
