Self Healing is the Doorway to Our Joy
by Maureen Higgins

Healing ourselves is the key to experiencing our inner light, thus, our joy. When our inner light is able to shine through, we automatically help shift our earth and all earth's inhabitants because of our interconnectedness.

We are all connected, because we are made of God or Golden Light. However, we all have challenges in our lives that make it difficult to feel, experience and emit our Golden Light. Our challenges are within us, and they attract those experiences and people to help us look at our unhelpful beliefs, thoughts and attitudes that manifest themselves as mental chatter, held-in emotions and physical symptoms.

We each have an energetic grid around us (in our auric field) made up of various shapes correlating with numbers that attract energies of the same nature. For example, if our soul wants to learn trust, our grid is arranged in a pattern designed to attract situations giving us the opportunity to trust ourselves and others.

If we pay attention, our mental chatter will give us hints as to what is blocking us from trusting. Our mental chatter may include statements such as, "I'm afraid people won't like me if they know me too well," or "People always let me down." We may be able to get in touch with our mental chatter by ourselves through meditation (observing our thought patterns), free association (speaking out loud and allowing any thoughts to come out without monitoring them), and journaling. Sometimes just knowing which unhelpful beliefs are a part of our consciousness can help release them.

If we allow ourselves to experience our emotions, we may get in touch with what is blocking us from trust. We may realize that "we haven't allowed people to get close, because we're still holding onto a grudge with Aunt Gertrude." Our emotions may flow freely through meditation (we may be given a flashback that triggers us to cry) or through our daily lives (a situation may remind us of the original sadness, thus causing us to cry).

Our body may hurt letting us know that something is bothering us. If we meditate on the painful area, our body may tell us what is causing the pain, which can release it. Sometimes our pain can be so severe that it is difficult to relax enough to get in touch with the underlying cause. Then it can be helpful to work exclusively with the body until it feels strong enough to understand the core issues to its pain.

When mental, emotional, and physical patterns are deeply ingrained, they may need outside assistance. Guided imagery works well in uncovering and transforming unhelpful patterns. Your mind can fully relax while you are gently guided towards your inner answers. Inner answers are not discovered using your mind -- insights come from the heart.

The heart is in alignment with the soul, which knows what is needed in your life to help you spiritually evolve and experience inner freedom. With proper guidance, your heart can zero in on what is causing mental stress, emotional difficulties and physical symptoms. As your heart finds answers to your challenges, statements of intent and energy work help transform your inner energy patterns, re-pattern your auric energetic grid, thus elevating mental, emotional and physical symptoms. Re-patterning allows you to feel lighter inside and attract situations and people to your life that further your spiritual growth.

We don't want to judge ourselves by saying, "Since I'm sick, I must've done something wrong." Everyone has inner challenges or pains, which are really stepping stones to wisdom and spiritual growth -- so they're gifts. Our belief systems, thoughts and attitudes create our pain (thus our reality), yet experiencing and walking through our pain allows us to understand ourselves and develop compassion, understanding and love so we may experience our Golden Light.
