OUR SOULS | OUR FEATURED TOPIC
Soul Infusion
by Lisa Venable
We are spiritual beings on a human experience. Thus, we embody two selves to know and explore. These two selves are the Ego Self and the Soul Self. Being aware of both aspects is very beneficial in transforming our lives into a more heart-centered, soulful earthwalk.
Our lives are like a story or play that we are co-creating with Spirit in every moment. Our Ego Self has been the dominant character, while the Soul has stayed undercover waiting patiently for us to call it forth and take the lead role. The Ego's act revolves around DRAMA, which it loves and cherishes in the arms of FEAR. The Soul's story embraces JOY, HARMONY and PEACE and is held in the arms of LOVE. Which story or aspect we we choose is up to us.
The human aspect of our Being (Ego) resides in the physical world. In our evolution, we have hurt ourselves, each other and the earth in order to survive. This is because we have chosen fear as our leader instead of love and Spirit. Our humanness for the most part feels disconnected from the Soul and often abandoned from our Creator Source. It is from our human self that we often feel, think and act, thus living in the world the way we do.
The Ego lives life from fear -- and when fear leads, we feel anxious, stressed-out, sick, worried about money, scared others won't like us or may leave us. It is a "spirit-less" life. Life too often feels like a difficult journey where we think we'll never be good enough, fast enough, loved enough or valued enough. We feel bound to others' approval and live under the SHOULDS of life -- doing what the masses say we should do instead of what we feel in our hearts is right for us.
The Soul Self lives life from love, and when love leads, we feel joyous, peaceful and fulfilled. It is the Soul that nurtures us and gives us everything we need when we choose to have faith and trust its love. We feel so full in the Soul that we do not need others to like us or approve of us and we do things because it is our heart's desire and not a SHOULD.
When we consciously infuse ourselves into the Soul, life becomes the beautiful dream we have always wished for. The Soul is always there, but we have to make the effort to tune into it by listening, watching and feeling the very breath of Life that runs through us. Connecting to the breath is one of the most powerful ways to infuse the soul into our beings. We can shift from the Ego to the Soul with simple energetic breath exercises along with choosing empowering thought patterns.
Sometimes it is helpful to see both sides of ourselves to know where we are at in any given situation. Then we can more consciously choose to move to the Soul. The following is a partial list of the various qualities of the Ego and the opposite qualities found in the Soul:
Ego Soul
Fears Loves
Doubts Trusting
Sees problems Sees Solutions
Controls Allows the Flow
Feels Lack Feels Abundance
External Approval Internal Approval
Judgmental Accepting
Victim Empowered
Shoulds Heart's Desire
Accepting the qualities of the Ego gives us peace and actually helps us know the opposite quality we desire. It is so important to love the Ego self. It is not bad; it is how we have known so far to survive in the physical world. We have lived this way for a long time and it has served us. IT IS OKAY! Until we master our Souls much more fully, we have an Ego self that needs to still be acknowledged and understood.
Each time we are frustrated, uncertain or feeling fear, we can see which quality in the Ego we are experiencing and then choose the opposite Soul quality and vibrate with it. Infusing the qualities of the soul into our Being can transform any challenge and situation we face and help us to live with great love and harmony. Living in our Souls is the most joyous place to be because we feel totally at peace, safe and secure. Once we choose to live there, everything is easy, clear and beautiful. Life becomes a playground and a wonderful, loving experience that we embrace every day.
