Our Soul: Whats Your Number?
by Nirmal Kaur Khalsa
Our soul is the inner part of us that connects directly to God. When we let our heart lead our head, we can connect the soul consciously, and we'll feel always secure and immersed in the love of the Creative Infinite.
In Akara Numerology, the day of birth represents the soul body, one of the 10 bodies of a human (of which the soul is the first and the physical is the fifth). The numbers used range from one to 11, so if your birth date is higher than that, you simply add the numbers together. If you were born on the 25th, for example, your soul number is seven.
If we've learned to use our soul positively, and the soul body is one of the more challenging bodies, we will be able to function from a place of humility and creativity. On the whole, however, we usually find ourselves expressing its more negative aspects.
Calculate your number and meditate on the aspects explained below. See how you're expressing your soul number and what characteristics you should develop to more fully manifest your potential in this life.
Were you born on the first? Do you find yourself using logic too much, running arguments around in your head? Does your life seem stagnant? These are the less evolved aspects of that soul number. But you can turn that to feelings of confidence, compassion and highly original creativity by working on your spiritual development.
The number two represents the longing to belong. When undeveloped it can leave you feeling abandoned and overly sensitive. The positive expression, however, makes you diplomatic, cooperative and gentle.
Three is the "devil or divine" energy. Your choice. You can be in the rut of negating yourself or you can trust your positive mind and allow your nurturing self to flow with the Infinite.
A person with a soul number of four needs to develop neutrality. Don't let your mind flip back and forth; see both sides with your logic and then let the heart decide.
If five is your number, you may have a hard time keeping an internal balance: you can be too self-sacrificing. Work on your physical body to give yourself the endurance you need and the strength to share what you know.
With a six, soul stress may leave you feeling overwhelmed by others. If you develop your focus and concentration, you will be able to remain one-pointed and contained.
If you were born with a seven soul, your mind may tell you that you can't uplift yourself. Don't believe it! You have considerable capacity to elevate yourself and feel that life is good.
An eight can leave your mind overwhelmed with fear. When you overcome this, your life will be happy and fulfilled, and you will have the energy to heal others.
With a nine in the soul position, your own mind and your connection to God may seem like a complete mystery to you. But when you achieve the subtlety of this number, you will recognize your own inner mastery.
Ten is the "all or nothing" number. If this is your soul energy, you can convince yourself that you are ineffective and can't make things happen. The positive polarity, however, is to know that you are a natural leader and to move on with courage.
And finally, eleven is the energy that can leave you wondering how to take control of your life. High level spiritual work will help you to connect to the divine inspiration that will give you the direction and the command you seek.

The numbers just represent the map; how we make the journey is up to us. Through conscious work we can reach the goal and smooth the path for those who follow us.
