Cody by Karen Searle I had planned for several weeks to interview intuitive artist and healer Patricia E. Cody, recipient of a Jerome Foundation scholarship to the Women's Art Registry of Minnesota's Artist Mentoring Program, but time was not cooperating with us. It was only after the terrible tragedies in New York and Washington on September 11 that the Divine Plan finally made it possible to learn about Patricia and her healing art work, which has been created to help us move forward in our healing process. Trained as an intuitive through a technique known as Integrated Awareness (© 1976 C. Newton), Patricia is able to make rare soul-to-soul connections to others, and she has been initiated into several hands-on healing techniques including Reiki Master level, Soma Pi™, MariEl® and Magnified Healing®. She has combined her artistic talents with her intuitive and healing gifts to design several specialized lines of hand-painted silks infused with truly unique healing energies. From her one-of-a-kind wearables encoded with an individual's soul energy pattern to her energetically enhanced Feng Shui-inspired silk wall hangings that balance the emotional body and environment, Patricia's healing silks act as a beacon of light to remind us of our own divinity and help bring balance to our lives. When Patricia and I met, I asked her why she felt it was finally time to do this interview. She told me that she had been urged through her intuitive connection to the Powers of Light (the name she lovingly calls the angelic beings who watch over humanity) that the timing is right now, so she can help others understand the need to come fully into a place of balance within themselves and their lives if we are to help heal this planet. "I feel strongly that the key to our own healing and the healing of our nation at this time is balance," Patricia said. "It is what we have always been striving for, and suddenly the unimaginable events of the last few weeks have thrown everyone off balance in one way or another. "In this time of trouble and confusion, the Powers of Light want everyone to know that they are here watching over us and that they do hear and answer our prayers for peace and protection and healing for the world community. I was reminded that as we go through this difficult transition into a more unified world consciousness to a place of greater peace and harmony within ourselves and the world as a whole, it is important to share this key of balance with everyone. The more you can balance your life, the more you can ride the waves of change that are coming. Just as our inner world is reflected in our outer world, once our inner world is guided by balance and peace, our outer world will benefit from these positive vibrations." Do you see your art as being a part of this plan to bring balance to people's lives? Patricia Cody: Yes. Most definitely. It wasn't until the day of the tragedy that everything I have been working on for the last 6 1/2 years finally came together and made sense to me. Originally I was painting silk scarves and accessories from a strictly artistic standpoint. But one day as I began to paint, a healing energy I hadn't felt before came out of my hands and went into the silk. That day was really the beginning of the work I now do. The Powers of Light then bestowed a great gift upon me by teaching me how to implant an individual's soul energy pattern into silk fabric. Cody: At the time this was all unfolding in my own life I just followed the guidance I was given, but I really didn't know where it was all heading. But in light of what has happened, yes I do. As I saw the terrible tragedy unfold on TV, I was thinking how such an extreme level of anger and self-hatred in someone just generates more and more hatred in the world. Our lives have been changed forever because of the out-of-control, unbalanced emotions of these terrorists. My next thought turned to how all those affected by these unthinkable acts will have to find balance in their lives again, and that the only way to really find peace and balance is to connect to their soul and God. Then I realized, "Wow. That's what all of my silks do!" They help release stresses from the emotional body so you can come to a place of balance. They allow you to find comfort in being surrounded by the energy of your soul, and they offer a prayer for peace to heal the planet from an energetic standpoint of bringing more light into the world. I was totally blown away when I made this connection. Suddenly, all of the work that the Powers of Light have asked me to do and the unique diversity of the techniques I was given made sense. Together, they are powerful healing tools to help us move into the future by lifting our energetic vibrations and healing ourselves and our environment during these stressful times. What else can people do during the crisis to help move forward? Cody: I understand it might sound silly to tell someone they can be of great service to the world right now by balancing their own life, because everyone is seeing incredibly brave and courageous people go day after day into the devastation at the Twin Towers and the Pentagon and we all want to be there with them doing our part. But the truth is, while not everyone can volunteer at the disaster sites, the actions we take in our own lives do make a big difference. So the best help you can be is to help raise the vibration of the planet to a place of peace and divine love so that the kind of anger and rage that prompted such atrocities will no longer be able to exist. Compassion is key. And everyone must start by healing their own inner conflicts so that they can help heal the world around them. As you heal your own issues, you raise your vibration and you radiate more positive light. And this positive light affects those around you by uplifting them and helping them let go of their own negativity. It becomes a cascade effect energetically, and soon the vibration of the entire planet will hit that point where it will shift to match all of the positive vibrations from the people. Humans in partnership with mother earth so we can all save ourselves and the world -- this is part of a new paradigm of energetic healing to help us cope with this new world we find ourselves in.
